Seller FAQs:
How should I price my items?
-
We generally find that the higher the resale discount from retail, the more quickly an item will sell. To give your item the best chance of selling, we recommend pricing the item with 30+% off – see below for our pricing recommendations based on item condition.
-
New with tags → minimum 25% discount
-
New without tags → minimum 30% discount
-
Worn once & dry-cleaned → minimum 30% discount

Worn once & not dry-cleaned → minimum 35% discount
-
Worn more than once → minimum 40% discount
-
Altered? → add 10% discount
-
Worn and not dry-cleaned? → add 5% discount
-
What happens when my item sells?
-
You will receive an email from Trousso notifying you that your item sold, as well as access to a messaging system where you can communicate with the buyer.
-
Once the item is shipped, please mark the item “Shipped” in your Trousso inbox and message your buyer the shipping tracking number.
-
Items must be shipped within 5 calendar days of accepting the transaction. Otherwise, the order can be canceled.
How and when do I receive payment for my item that sold?
-
All payments on Trousso are powered by Stripe, the world's leading payment processing system.
-
Once a transaction is initiated by the buyer, the money is captured from the buyer's card, and funds are put on hold. Once the buyer receives the item, the buyers mark the order complete. Money is then moved into the seller’s bank account, and it usually takes about 7-10 days for the funds to post. Both parties get a receipt of the transaction via email.
-
If an item is not as described within the listing or is sent the wrong item, the buyer can report these issues with the order within 3 days of order delivery. In these cases, sellers will not be paid out and will have items returned to them.
How do I close a listing?
-
Ensure you are logged into your Trousso account. Then, navigate to the “Your items” section of your profile. From this view, click or tap on the three dots in the upper right corner of the listing you’d like to close and select “Close listing”.
-
You can always re-open a closed listing by navigating to the “Your items” section of your profile, and clicking or tapping on the “Open listing” button on the previously-closed listing you’d like to open.
What is Trousso’s commission?
- Our fees are very straightforward. It is free to list an item on our site. If an item is purchased, the seller keeps 80% of any sale and Trousso’s commission is 20% (which covers credit card processing fees & allows for an ad-free marketplace).
